Byron Bears Debit Card
First Security Bank now offers a Byron Bear Debit Card. This debit card promotes school pride and with every purchase you make it generates income for the Byron school system.
Every time the card is used to make a point of sale purchase, First Security Bank donates a percentage of the interchange fee back to Byron schools. The card provides funding for programs and supplies that wouldn't otherwise be possible. The approval of funding will be determined by members of the Byron School Impact Fund Board members.
Through increased usage and participation, we hope to grow the amount donated each year and make a difference in our schools!

ATM/Debit Cards FAQs
Would you like CASH BACK when you make a purchase from your debit card?
Tired of trying to find an ATM that won't charge you for a transaction? We have an easier way for you to get cash! When you make a purchase using your First Security Bank Debit Card, you may now ask the clerk for "cash back". Most businesses that allow you to "swipe" your card have this feature. You need to select the "debit" and enter your PIN. The terminals should respond back "would you like cash back?" If you do, enter the dollar amount that you would like back. The entire purchase amount, including the cash back will be deducted from your account. What an easy way to get some cash without searching for surcharge free ATM's!

What is the difference between Debit or Credit?
It's time to pay for groceries at the supermarket. You tell the cashier you are paying with your First Security Bank Debit Card. He then asks, "DEBIT or CREDIT?" Ever wonder why you are asked this question?
The merchant is simply asking how you would like the transaction to be processed. No matter how you respond, "DEBIT or CREDIT", the purchase will be deducted from your checking account. The main difference between the two is how you elect to authorize the sale. By selecting "CREDIT" you must sign your name to authorize the sale. If you select "DEBIT" you must use your PIN to authorize the sale.
What is the daily limit for a debit card?
The daily limit for purchases on your debit card is $1,000/day and for cash withdrawals is $209/day.
What do I do if I lose my ATM or debit card?
Call the Bank immediately! We will be able to deactivate your card and re-issue you a new one. If it is during non-banking hours, call 1-800-554-8969 to report the card lost or stolen.
